Investigative Inquiry - Stitchery

As part of Investigative Inquiry an enthusiastic group of children did some great stitchery.

Amazing writing!!

We used the Samorost game to work on our descriptive writing today...wow!!
The pod children did an amazing job at explaining the game... we are really proud of our great writers.

Congratulations Aaliyah, Cole and Mia for your hard work today.

Samorost

Just a quick message to the Aroha Pod... Samorost has been added to the blog; go to the "Other links" tab at the top and have a go!

Have fun!

Cartwheel Creamery

Cheese Tasting

Today we had Jill Ashcroft from Cartwheel Creamery visit us to talk about how to make cheese.  This follows on from the ricotta cheese we made as part of our Inquiry last term.

Jill showed us some of the different cheeses she and her husband make and we all got to have a taste of her yummy cheeses.

It was so delicious that lots of Aroha Pod children were lining up for seconds!

Cartwheel Creamery sell their cheeses at Moreish, Riverside orchids, Binn Inn in Feilding and at the Feilding Farmers Markets.
Thanks Jill!

Photos for Science Experiments

Science Experiments

Aroha Pod are looking at "What is science?" and "What do Scientists do?"

We started with out with the  'Dancing Raisins' experiment.
Our question was 'What happens when we drop raisins into soda water?'
The children had to give a hypothesis as to what they thought would happen and then observe and record their observations.
