ANZAC Day

Thank you to all those families who shared something for ANZAC Day.
Aroha POD students were able to show empathy towards those who lost their lives fighting for our country and our freedom.  They now have more of an understanding of the meaning of loyalty and courage.

Dress up day

Some pictures from our dress up day today.  We had some great book characters come to life!
Well done Aroha POD - You all looked amazing.

Welcome back!!

Holidays are now a distant memory - it's all go into term 2!

The school ANZAC ceremony yesterday was a really special event.  The field of remembrance will be on the grass all week if you haven't been to have a look yet.

Thank you to all the children who have brought their running shoes in a plastic bag.  We will be getting out for a run as often as possible (weather permitting). More details on this to follow.

Well done to today's lanyard recipients - some great writing!!

Look out for information in the newsletter this week about the book fair too.

Poppies and next term...

Hi everyone,

Hopefully you are still enjoying your holiday and staying warm!  The teachers have been busy preparing for another great term so here are a few updates to get you looking forward to term 2.

The poppies we planted at the end of last term are doing really well; here they are:

We have also made some changes in the pod over the holiday break... homerooms 8 and 9 will now be sharing a classroom in the morning as well as the cloakbay hooks.  Both classes will now be able to come in through the cloakbay in the mornings until the Navigator Centre move into their new building (then we will spread out even further).  Homeroom 22 can still come in through the same door, and bags will be kept in the Atrium space until we move.

(Just to prove we are working hard at school with our little helpers!!)
